Gross sales of home passenger autos (PVs) by vehicle firms in August dropped 2-3 per cent year-on-year (Y-o-Y) to about 355,000 items owing to low demand and companies lowering manufacturing to ease strain on sellers who maintain excessive unsold inventories.

Partho Banerjee, senior govt officer (advertising and gross sales), Maruti Suzuki India (MSIL), stated the corporate had decreased its dispatches to sellers by about 13,000 items in August.
